What do i need to take to tj and come back to CA ?

Can i take my birth certificate, ca id, school id and social i do not have a passport.

New law says you need a passport. I go down to TJ about once a month and even with a passport the people working there still act like they hate me lol.

You can opt for the BCC- the Border Crossing Card. You can use this instead of a passport on Cruise Ships also. It's cheaper and quicker than the passport, but unfortunately, it is the same process as the passport, so you might as well just get the passport. I got my passport in a little over a week. Just pay for "expedited service" and it will come really quick. A few years ago all you needed was a Driver's License. There were even 10K runs into Mexico and back across the border. I know- I used to run them. But our government hates Mexico now, for some reason. Mexico does not require anything from you but ID like Driver's License. Its our own Government that requires it for you to re-enter. When they passed this crazy law they had a tolerance for a while. You could get in with Birth Certificate and Social, other ID like Driver's License, but I think that expired.
