I may still have 20 lbs of fish that i would prefer to bring back to the states. Flying United in July 2010, where do i get info on the rules?

You can bring 50# of frozen fish in a sealed ice chest.

No ice and no dry ice. You can freeze those gel ice refrigerants.

I usually use an ice chest with rollers and seal it up with duct tape. I fly all the time with frozen fish from Cabo to ABQ, with one stop(about 6 hours). I add dry ice in Albuquerque and make the 3 hour drive home and end up with frozen fish for the freezer.

The airlines will probably charge you for an extra bag but they will anyway.If you don't fill the chest with fish add soiled clothes, etc... I usually have my guide vacuum pack all the fillets and toss them in the freezer. They last about 2 years. Good luck! Catch lot's of fish! Best regards!
