I think a $2,000 Peso note is OLD pesos, and no longer legal tender. Check the issue date. If it is over 10 years old it is worth zero.

You probably have one of the old bills. Its worth about $2 US funds.

If it is a single bill with 2000 pesos on it --it is worthless

If it is in good shape .They stopped production in the early 90s and slashed three zeros off there currency. At the time cars were in the millions and houses were off the end of most calculators.

Is it one bill and is it in good shape ,if so I may be interested.

Well, no. I'm living in Mexico and it's not actually a lot of money for a mexican unless you are a homeless man it's about 200 dollars.

2000 pesos to a Mexican is a lot of money. To an American tourist, it's only about $200, an easy amount to spend in one day when going across the border in Nuevo Progreso south of Merced, Texas.

http://www.xe.com/ is an awesome site

Also, you should be able to sell the money back to your bank. The exchange rate they give you will be a little less (how they make their money) but should only take away about $10 from the amount you get back. I don't think sending cash money through the mail is a great idea.
